Crossing the line

In spite of all the development and sophistication that has occurred in our society, we are still biased towards various issues and the age divide is one of them. Although an older man going around with a younger women is completely accepted by the society and in fact is often termed as cool. On the other hand, An older women having a relation with a younger guy is seriously condemned irrespective of the culture/ country we are in. This mentality is hard to understand and defies all logic.
Align Left

It is just a cob web that has existed in the society from the time immemorial and has secured its place in our ideologies and beliefs. To make the matters worse, cheap and sick jokes are cracked at women committed to a younger guy. The primary cause of such a discrimination is the behavioral pattern of Men and Women. On the one hand, Women are more tolerant than men and our society being predominantly male dominated, tend to be critical towards women. But we can surely cant escape the fact that we are to an extent responsible for such a discrimination.

It is high time that we become more responsible and sensitive to such issues and respect individuals and their relationship irrespective of their age or gender.I hope a mass dissemination on this subject will generate much needed realisation among the masses about the gender divide and will motivate a lot of comedians / celebrities/ hosts across the globe to be more responsible the next time they crack joke on someone.
