He walked into the room clueless, and had no intention to be there. He was probably scared of his own doubts and wanted a way to overcome it. He hurriedly entered the snooker room in the club, and found out two players vigorously trying to score points by potting balls into the pockets. He was amazed at this view and he instantly observed the resemblance of the game with the realities of life.
He realised, life is essentially a game of snooker. His description of the game helped me understand the real meaning of life. This is how he described life.
The game commences by a shot by one of the players resulting in a collision, confusion and havoc. He was also just like one of the balls in the frame. He collided with different coloured balls i.e. Essentially people with different ambitions, traditions and culture etc. The players plan and strategise in a way, that a single strike can result in a impact which will propel the balls into the pocket. This is what the almighty does to us every day. He enables us to meet new people, thereby resulting in a collision with one another, consequent to which we discover new avenues, directions and challenges etc. The best part of the game is that the player (almighty) wins when he propels us to the pocket (Our goals and aspirations in life). There are three main elements which generally help us to reach our goals and ambitions
· A player who is the almighty, who keeps on pushing us towards our destination and uses his creativity and vision to help us attain our objectives in life.
· He uses sticks in form of Teachers, mentors, parents, friends etc to help us innovate and discover a direction, which decides out fate and destiny.
· We can only reach our destination if make an impact on each other’s life in a right and precise way. We may all not end up winners, but the fact of the matter is we all contribute in each other’s success.
The most important lesson is still to come. One of the greatest ironies in life is that success always brings a share of egoism and conceitedness within us. It is evident from the fact that the success is not the act of putting one particular ball in the pocket. It is the act of co – coordinating and synchronising with one another to achieve a common end. We all have a role to play, not only in life’s of one another but also to make this journey a success and make the almighty the winner.
And now the most important lesson to be learnt. We all start from the same point. We all are equal to the creator. It is our ability to be impacted and in turn impact others, primarily determines our future.
Billiards is truly a game of life.
